Some memories of Carol before she and my brother Daniel married:
-My brother telling me he had met Carol at Rockaway Beach!
-Daniel, leaving our small Astoria apartment often to go to a pay phone booth to call Carol in private.
-Daniel and Carol taking me to a professional wrestling match at Sunnyside Gardens in Long Island City.
-Visiting Carol’s family’s home on Palmetto St., Ridgewood; and meeting her parents and her sister Grace Ellen - and her husband Johnny Cerato.
At the wedding and beyond:
-Honoring me as usher for their wedding and Godfather for two children.
-Daniel forgetting the wedding ring until our family was about a mile down the road.
-Carol calling a medical professional neighbor for my frost-bitten ears, when I arrived at their Niagara Falls home after hitchhiking for winter break from college.
-Carol’s loving thoughtfulness in remembering my wife, children and grandchildren.
