Carmine Filice, age 84, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2024, in Medina, Ohio surrounded by the family who so loved him. Born in Italy, Carmine's journey through life was marked by an unwavering devotion to his family and a heart that knew no bounds when it came to love and generosity.
Carmine's legacy is anchored by his enduring love story with his beloved wife Patsy "Dani," with whom he shared 59 years of marriage filled with laughter, adventure, and an unbreakable bond. Together, they built a life characterized by warmth and togetherness, a testament to their commitment to each other and their family.
A devoted father, Carmine's wisdom and guidance shaped the lives of his children, Bruno "Michael" (Bonnie), Gina (Mark) Hackett, and Franco (Shannon). His stories, lessons, and the twinkle in his eye during shared moments will live on in their hearts forever. As a brother, he shared an unspoken connection with Gina (Gisberto) Ciardullo, Sestina (the late Giulio) Ciardullo, and Franco Filice, a bond formed in childhood and carried through every chapter of their lives.
Carmine took immense pride in his role as Nonno to his grandchildren, Xavier (Lexi), Curran (Lauren), Josie (Bennett), Gabriella, Isabella (Lawrence), Nick, Sofia, Carter, Caden and Ruby. Great-Nonno to Jonah and Clyde. Each of them cherished the unique relationship they had with him, filled with stories, laughter, and love.
The son of the late Bruno and Antonia, Carmine carried with him the values of family, hard work, and the importance of one’s heritage. These principles were the cornerstone of his life and will remain a guiding light for his family.
Carmine Filice’s memory will be carried forward in the stories told, the family gatherings remembered, and the love he bestowed. His was a life well-lived, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
The words to describe what an incredible father, grandfather and great grandfather Carmine Filice was do not exist. He was an extraordinary man, and we were the lucky ones to have known him, loved him, and be loved by him! Rest in peace, Nonno.
Friends and loved ones are invited to honor this remarkable life at JARDINE FUNERAL HOME, 15822 Pearl Road, Strongsville, on Monday, September 16th from 3-6 PM.
A funeral service to celebrate Carmine's legacy will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday September 17th at 1 PM. Following the service, Carmine will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery.
