Carl was born on July 20, 1955, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Carl Edward Costa and Dorothy Picone Costa. Carl's life was a testament to the virtues of courage, integrity, and the enduring power of his love of family.
Preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Christopher Paul Costa and Catherine Marie Costa Zdrale, Carl's spirit joins his departed family in heavenly peace.
A wonderful husband of twenty-four love filled years to his wife Lisa and a guiding light in the lives of their children, Carl's legacy will live on through daughters Juliane Marie Wagner (Brian), Kristen Elizabeth Smalley (Scott) and Meghan Ashley Ghanem (Mohamed), and sons Matthew Carl Costa, and Brennan Zachary Hosier (Kasey) and his beloved grandchildren Liam, Nora, Kelsey and Kennedy. Just as he cherished his human family, Carl also leaves behind his loyal poodle companion, Winston.
Members of the community will remember Carl as a paragon of leadership in his esteemed role as Director of Business Development at NELCO Worldwide, where his career was marked by a keen intellect and a generous spirit. A graduate of Brentwood High School in 1973 and holding a Master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh, Carl’s intellectual pursuits shaped his professional journey. Carl’s strategic vision and personable approach significantly contributed to the success of the organization which he lovingly referred to as his NELCO family.
Carl’s love of travel and history was demonstrated in his custodianship of a historic home in Burgundy, France, a place where he could immerse himself in the narratives of the past. He found solace in the rich stories and timeless beauty of the region.
A private Celebration of Life for close family and friends will be held on the 13th of March, 2024. The family will provide additional details as we near the event.
