Bernice M. Fitch's Obituary
Bernice M. Fitch (nee Tepley) passed away peacefully on September 13, 2024, at the age of 97. Born on July 20, 1927, in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the cherished daughter of the late Albert and Lillian Tepley and the sister of the late Del Tepley and his late wife Jean.
Bernice's life was a testament to the love and care she had for her family. She was the loving mother of Donna Pawlowski (Marion), Tim Fitch, and Karen Colbert (James). Her joy was multiplied as she became the grandmother of Brian Pawlowski (Amy), Lisa Pawlowski, Jon Pawlowski (Maggie), Tracy Scholz (Scott), Kevin Colbert (Haley), and Kyle Colbert (Stacey). The family circle grew even wider with the arrival of her great-grandchildren Adella, Jonathan, Joshua, Kayleigh, Brody, and Isaac, who all brought immense happiness to her life.
Bernice was a devoted cousin to Carol Hering and Marylyn Dolnicek, and a dear aunt to Christina Roberts, Claudine Meaney, and Jean Mix. Her long-time special friend, Shirley Colbert, held a treasured place in her heart.
Throughout her life, Bernice was an active member of her community. She dedicated many hours to volunteering at Marymount Hospital, where her compassionate nature was a comfort to patients and staff alike. Bernice had an infectious love for dance and never missed an opportunity to enjoy it with her friends. Her vivacity shone brightly as she twirled and stepped to the music she adored.
Bernice was an integral part of Westwood Apartments, where she made numerous friends and was a regular participant in the weekly rosary group. Her commitment to her faith was unwavering.
Above all, Bernice loved her family unconditionally. She was exceptionally devoted to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, celebrating their achievements and supporting them through life's challenges. Her guidance and wisdom were the foundation upon which her family thrived. Bernice’s legacy of love, faith, and kindness will live on through the generations she nurtured so lovingly.
ALL SERVICES SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 21, 2024. VISITATION 10AM-11AM with a Memorial Mass beginning at 11:30AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 12700 Pearl Road, Strongsville. Interment will take place at Strongsville Cemetery immediately following mass. Please meet at the cemetery.
