Bernard Leo Gelinas' Obituary
Bernard Leo Gelinas, adored husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend passed away on June 10, 2022.
Bernard was born in Yamachiche, Quebec, Canada on February 3, 1924. He married the love of his life, Fleurette, on May 18, 1953, and the two moved to Cleveland, Ohio to begin their life together. Their marriage lasted sixty-nine years and blessed them with two children, seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Left to cherish his memory and carry on his legacy are his wife, Fleurette (née Rabouin), daughter Denise Martin (Bruce Benjamin), son Steven Gelinas (Kristin), grandchildren Kelly Weaver (Jimmy), Kevin Martin (Shannon Carroll), Kate Martin (Pete Rowe), Alexis Gelinas (Ben Leonhardt), Austin Gelinas, Peyton Gelinas, and Parker Gelinas, and seven great grandchildren: Nolan, Lucy, Elliot, Noah, Griffin, Quinn, and Claire. He is preceded in death by his parents, Gustave and Edouardina and siblings, Marcel, André, Germain, Jean-Marie, Suzanne, Laurent, and Gilles.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church 12700 Pearl Road, Strongsville, OH 44136, Saturday June 18, 2022 at 11:30AM. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, Brook Park.
In lieu of flowers and to best honor his memory, the family asks that you do something kind for someone in Bernard's name, as it was his love, kindness, selflessness, care for others, and generous spirit that defined him.
