Barbara Kline's Obituary
Barbara Kline (Womack), 76, of Strongsville, Ohio passed/died/was taken from her misery July 11, 2020 at The Altenheim Therapy Rehab Center. The family believes she timed this perfectly to avoid having to see the outcome of the upcoming Presidential election.
She leaves behind two children, Cindy (Terry) Croft and Jim Kline; three “beautiful granddaughters” Stephanie (Mike) Harsch, Lauren (Evan) Shooltz and Brittany Kline; two and a half great grandkids Eden, Nolan and Peyton (due in October). She was blessed to have many friends and golf buddies, including “Jackasses” Barb Murphy, Nancy Dominik, Cheryl Ball, and “Kiddo” Madge Reese. We cannot leave out the local Pizza Hut Delivery team, who visited every Wednesday evening.
Barb was the only living child of Homer and “Bet” Womack. She was born on March 14, 1944 in St. Albans, WV and graduated from St. Albans High School and Youngstown State University. She loved her 23 year stent as the “LifeLine Lady” at Southwest General Hospital but was forced into retirement in 2010, when her health began to decline and it started to become apparent that she’d be the only Lifeline Lady to have ever “fallen and can’t get up.”
Tiger had nothing on Barb. She loved her golf and was famous for missing the chip shot. She was happy with any course, as long as it had a 19th hole.
After years as a huge Cleveland Indians fan, the Tribe has missed their chance to hire her as an advisor. Barb was convinced that her tips would have definitely won them a title. Barb will be cremated, but considered a graveside service just so she could request six Cleveland Indians pallbearers so the Tribe could let her down one last time.
Her fondness of Dirty Harry movies and Shawshank Redemption was only surpassed by her love of a good Surf & Turf, chocolate covered peanuts and her mom’s Congo Cookies.
Barb was world-renowned for not holding back her opinion and had a knack for telling it like it is. With that being said, she was like a human M & M…she was hard on the outside but she was soft on the inside.
In the last few years, Barb’s health began to decline. Her devout feistiness and stubbornness had served her well throughout her life. And even in her waning months, she was a model of strong will and sheer determination right up until the end of her journey here on Earth.
The woman who loved life and taught her children to ‘be the best you can be’ is now safely in the arms of Jesus and dancing at the wedding feast of the Lamb. In her words, “Don’t cry or worry about me. I’m in heaven with my Maker and out of pain. Have a Vodka Tonic with a lime, on me…and don’t be wearing black. I’m not dead, I’m alive.”
ALL SERVICES PRIVATE. The family requests donations be made in her name to Sanctuary for Senior Dogs, P.O. Box 609054, Cleveland, OH 44109. www.jardinefh.com
