Barbara Ann Desai's Obituary
Barbara Ann Desai (nee Van Camp), 70, passed away on January 1, 2024. Beloved wife of 50 years to Hemant (Ham) Desai. Loving mother of Sharda Loyd (Aaron) and Reena Warner (Chaz). Daughter of Eleanor and the late Bernard Van Camp. Sister of Bonnie Clark (John) and Bernard “JR” Van Camp, Jr. (Nadine). Dear grandmother of Annabelle, Connor and Quinn Loyd and Jackson and Lillian Warner. Caring aunt, cousin, and friend to many.
Barb was a registered nurse for over 40 years. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, decorating, and was an excellent cook; she loved to entertain her family and friends with her delicious meals. She was warm, welcoming and kind, and she loved a good martini.
Barb was devoted to her family; she and Ham were looking forward to celebrating their fiftieth wedding anniversary this summer. They enjoyed going out to nice restaurants and traveling the world together. Most especially, she loved spending time with her two daughters and their families. Her grandchildren (and grandpuppies) were her true joy in life. She loved taking them to the pool, playing games together, and passing down her love of cooking and creative projects. Her most favorite tradition was the annual family vacation to Hilton Head Island, where she could be found searching the sand for treasures with her grandchildren or relaxing on the beach.
