I worked in the Human Resources Dept. at Advanced Ceramics/GE, so I had the pleasure of knowing Arthur.
He was a very nice, intelligent and interesting man.
May happy memories help you through this difficult time.

Anita,
Duc & Thuy Truong want to share with you the loss of your husband Arthur. May God be there with him and comfort you while he waiting to joint with you forever. Peace
The funniest memory of Arthur running was in the backyard of our home in Riverside, IL. We had a crazy Scottie named Humphrey who we attached to a clothesline in our back yard. He could run up and down the line. Unsuspecting, Arthur came into the back yard from another street after a run and crazy Humphrey came tearing after him. And Humphrey meant business. Arthur ran as never before, and it was close. He reached the steps just as Humphrey got to the end of the line.
Also, After Arthur finished a Boston marathon, he jogged over to our daughter, Bridget's apartment to rest. Bridget asked him if he would like some peanuts (the only thing she could offer besides water). Arthur was very content with them and sat down to munch away. Bridget remembers that incident very clearly because Arthur was so matter-of-fact about running the marathon.
He was a unique, wonderful individual.

Art Moore was an ultra running legend and a very kind person. I'll never forget listening to his stories at Mohican Colleen's house after running Art's FA 50K when I first got into ultra running. Or the time when I ran the Presque Isle Endurance Challenge and got to chat with Art many times throughout the day as we ran in 1 mile circles for 12 hours. You will be greatly missed my friend and it was my pleasure to have met you.
Dear Edina and Family:
Have fond memories of Art and the "Oatmeal Gang" having breakfast in the Metroparks. Really enjoyed the "steel cut" oats he cooked, and especially the toppings and conversation.
Also remember the wonderful time we all had at Pelee Island with the CWRRC folks.
One neat guy!
Sincerely,

Art was a special ambassador at the Mohican 100, a proud member of the 1000 mile club. He always had a kind word and always made me feel like a superstar. I will always remember one year at the last aid station, 95 miles, near Landols Castle, on the old course, he made me feel so special as I was on my way to finish. He was so happy. He loved to see others do well. When he cut back his running, he still came out as a volunteer for many events to see everyone and support his love of running. I will never forget the story Art told me about doing the Laurel Highlands Race, 70 plus miles, and then turning around and running the course in reverse back to the start. Thank you Art Moore for being a part of my life..............Ron Ross, Medina, Ohio, Ultrarunner and friend.
Arthur inspired me to wear my Ultra belts even if they were only for a 50k!
So sorry for your loss. Like many others, I met Arthur thorough running and he always was an inspiration, a gentleman and quite a scholar. We ran 50 miles together pretty much step for step a few years back. I learned a lot that day.

I first met Art at the 1995 Laurel Highlands Run in Western Pennsylvania. He wore a belt with holsters for bottles, but he carried 2 cans of Coke in them. I never saw him open the cans as he just sauntered on down the trail ahead of me.
Art was a master of his chosen pastime, and an inspiration to many of us "new comers" to the sport of ultra running. He will be missed. Rest in Peace, Art.
