Michael (Billie deceased) of Rives Junction, MI, Tom (Kathy) of Marcellus, MI, and loving sister Norene Hahn of Jackson, MI. Dear uncle to many. The third son of Carl A. and Della M.Rumler. Tony was born on January 1st, 1948 and now joins his parents, brother Jim and sister Barbara Martens (Bob).
Tony served his country as a honorable and proud Marine during the Vietnam war, then before returning home, finishing his service with the Military Police state side. His career was mostly in the steel industry. After graduating from Western Michigan College in Kallamazoo, MI, he worked for Republic Steel in Cleveland. After earning his Master’s degree from Baldwin Wallace College in Berea, OH, he continued working for LTV steel in Cleveland. After exiting the steel industry he retired from Siemens Corporation in the spring of 2014.
His favorite thing for leisure was golf. At his surprise retirement golf outing celebration, a banner honoring him read, “ A bad day on the golf course is better than a good day at work” and he loved it!
A strong man of his faith, he was a proud member of the St. Ambrose Church Knights of Columbus. Tony’s Knight brothers always included and looked after him when he was able to attend functions during the later stage of his illness. For that, his family is forever grateful. Tony was a mentor to many young people, telling them always, “first to arrive, last to leave.” Some of these young people in adulthood continued to be dear friends to him.
