Ann T. Timony's Obituary
Ann T. Timony, (nee Kriesen) age 86, of Strongsville passed away October 5th, 2022, surrounded by her loving children. Beloved wife of Lawrence D. Timony of 57 years. Loving mother of Mark, Gregg, Dennis, and Pamela (Pam). Proud Grandmother of Sierra, Erin, Hannah, Sophia (Poppi), Ryan, and Harrison (Harry) McKee. Dear sister of Arthur Kriesen.
Ann was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, and became a long suffering Cleveland sports fan at an early age. In the early 1950’s mom frequently traveled downtown with her friends via streetcar to seek autographs of Cleveland Indians baseball players for her scrapbooks. After graduating near the top of her class at St. Stephen’s High School in 1954, Ann attended Fen College, interned at a local T.V. station, worked as a temp secretary, and sold shoes in a downtown department store.
Upon meeting her husband Lawrence (Larry) Ann focused her efforts on raising her growing family while following Larry’s many job transfers across the mid-west. From Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Kansas, and New York, wherever the move took her, she never missed a beat and immediately joined the local Catholic parish, welcome wagon, PTA, bowling, pinochle, bridge, tennis, and golf leagues. Ann always made sure to keep in touch with her many former neighbors and friends across the mid-west via her humorous Christmas letters attached to her ever growing Christmas card list.
In spite of her many activities outside of the home and the occasional chaos induced by four children within, Ann always managed to have a dinner ready, a delicious desert, a neat row of packed school lunches in the refrigerator by morning. Once the nest was empty Ann didn’t let up the pace. Ann and Larry traveled extensively via cruises to Europe, South America, Alaska, the Bahamas, and even a trip to China. When she wasn’t traveling, Ann continued her education through various Independent Learning in Retirement classes at Baldwin Wallace College, obtained a real estate license, worked as an account representative at Pierre’s Ice Cream company and Stouffer’s Foods. Ann’s faith in God led her to serve as a longtime usher, Eucharistic Minister, and choir member for funeral masses at St. John Neumann Parish in Strongsville, Ohio.
As the Christmas card list grew shorter, and the physical activities began to drop off, Ann continued to read extensively and follow her favorite sports teams. Ann enjoyed the company of her friends at The Strongsville Senior Center, visits from her classmates from St. Stephens, and chatting with her dining table friends at Generations Senior Living.
