Ann Marie Gross, 79, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2026, surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Beloved wife of the late William “Bill” F. Gross for 54 years. Loving mother of Bill F. Gross Jr. (Pati), James L. Gross (fiancée Pamela Macejko), Margaret Gross-Penner (Matt), and Kathleen Glaser (Ralph). Sister of Diane Benyak (Mark), Delores Tommer, and the late Harry Tommer (Paulette; surviving) and Larry Tommer (Sue; surviving). Daughter of the late Harry and Margaret Tommer. Dear Meemee of Jena Gross (Jordan), Halli Gross (Bryce), William R. Gross (Carly), Logan Gross (Megan), Jacob Gross, James L. Gross II, Cassandra Gross, Emily Penner, Anthony Glaser, Addison Glaser (Mikey), Jay McDaniel and Logan Hanna. Great Meemee of Rylee Harrison, Elliot Harrison, Nora Harrison, Eloise Gross-Fleming, William “Liam” Gross Jr. and Miles Hanna.
Ann’s nurturing spirit, unwavering support, boundless love, and endearing sense of humor will forever live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and anyone who had the privilege to know her. She dedicated her life to being a fantastic and wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Ann excelled at loving and supporting her family through anything and everything. She specifically shined as a caregiver to her grandchildren in their early lives and was known to get any baby within arm’s reach to sleep.
Ann was a passionate crafter, and when she wasn’t filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found in her recliner with her folding table, working on her current project. From coloring to painting to embroidery to scrapbooking to sewing sequins on every Christmas character one can think of, she crafted tirelessly and enjoyed every minute of it.
Ann’s greatest hobby was photography. Wherever she went, the camera was at her side. Every important moment was captured (with a small red light followed by the brightest flash imaginable). Taking her film to Medic and always getting double prints ensured that her family would always have memorable photos to look back on (even if those photos were her feet or the ground when she would accidentally push the shutter button). Ann’s dedication to documenting every moment provided a way for her family to relive wonderful moments through her photos again and again.
To Ann, family was everything, a value that she instilled in all those around her. Not only did her biological relatives experience her love, but she made every single person brought into her home feel as if they were family, even ending the visit with a wet, sweaty kiss (sometimes, if you were lucky, right on the lips!).
Ann was an incredible person who is so much more than these few paragraphs on a page. The family she built is her legacy and a testament to the dedication and love she gave to create the bonds that will last forever. Ann lives on in every single person who experienced her welcoming and kind spirit. Meemee, we will always love you to the moon and back.
VISITATION WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 5, 2026, 4:30 PM–7 PM at JARDINE FUNERAL HOME, 15822 PEARL RD, STRONGSVILLE. A Celebration of Life service will begin at 7 PM at Jardine’s. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery on THURSDAY, AUGUST 6, 2026, at 9:45 AM. Please meet at the cemetery.
