Allen Sedory's Obituary
A 51 year resident of Strongsville, OH, Al grew up in Cleveland, attending Roxboro Jr HS and Cleveland Heights HS. The first person in his family to attend a 4-year college, he graduated from Western Reserve University and Georgetown University Law School. After working for several years in private practice, he joined Ohio Bell as a corporate lawyer, serving for 25 years. He retired in 1991.
He was well known for his fondness of spending time with his family, photography, and enjoying family vacations to lakeside cottages in Canada for fishing and canoeing. He loved reading and deep philosophical discussions. He will be remembered most for his warmth, patience, empathy, willingness to listen, and kind words to share. He loved people, and people loved him.
A man of deep Catholic faith, he bravely fought cancer for more than a decade, keeping an amazing level of optimism, hope and zest for life.
He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend, Kathleen (née Woods); children Caroline Waterman (Howard) of Wayne, NJ, Tom (Kelly) of Portland, OR, and Janet Kolokithas (Sotirios) of Mechanicsburg, PA; and seven grandchildren.
Memorial contributions could be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or St. Augustine Hunger Center. Visitation will be held at Jardine Funeral Home 15822 Pearl Road Strongsville, OH 44136 Sunday October 20 from 2-6PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday October 21 11AM at St. John Neumann Catholic Church 16271 Pearl Road Strongsville, OH 44136. Internment Resurrection Cemetery.
