Alexander DeRiso's Obituary
Alexander "Sonny" DeRiso, 94, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his beloved family.
A devoted husband, Sonny shared 57 beautiful years of marriage with the love of his life and best friend, Lena DeRiso. Together, they built a life full of warmth, laughter, and unwavering love.
He was the proud and caring father of Dina Miller (John) and Carla Costello (Edward), and the cherished grandfather of Kaitlyn, Ryan, and Evan, who brought immense joy to his heart. Nothing made Sonny happier than spending time with his grandchildren—whether it was sharing stories, laughing over ice cream, or simply being in their presence.
Born with a quiet strength and a generous heart, Sonny proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, a time in his life he remembered with honor and pride. After his military service, he spent most of his life as a baker—rising before dawn, working with his hands, and bringing sweetness into the lives of many.
Sonny had a deep love for the simple pleasures in life: trains chugging down the tracks, fishing, old cowboy movies, and the joy of a shared scoop of ice cream. He had a gentle soul and a playful spirit that endeared him to everyone who knew him.
