Adam Ryan Cook's Obituary
Adam Ryan Cook, 49, formerly of Lakewood and Brunswick Ohio, passed away on May 12, 2026. Born on May 3, 1977, in Parma, Ohio, Adam's outrageous, stubborn and heartfelt energy will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Adam was the cherished son of Sharon Plymale Dock and the late Rick Cook. He is survived by his loving family: sister Beth Heffner; brothers Matthew Cook and Richard Cook; and brother-in- law Bob Heffner. In addition to his dad, Rick Cook, Adam was preceded in death by his beloved dog Ella, who held a special place in his heart.
Adam lived life with enthusiasm and humor. He could not pass up a good taco, steak and shrimp dinners or strawberry and banana ice cream. Adam had a knack for sports betting on Fan Duel and Draft Kings. He had over 25 seasons of Fantasy Football under his belt that showcased his competitive spirit and may have ticked off his buddies more than a few times for running his mouth. We would be remiss if we didn't mention his love of Kobe Bryant, his impressive collection of Air Jordans, laughing at comedians on YouTube (commercial-free of course), late night marathon phone conversations to his friends, especially the late Ricky Russo and brother Rich. He also enjoyed dabbling in day trading, dead lifting weights while chugging protein shakes, Kangol caps, leather Converse, drinking Tito's on the rocks, and luxury cars.
Adam was the self appointed "dog nanny" to his dog nieces and nephew; Gemma, Maybelle, and Wyatt. He logged many miles walking Gemma through the streets of Lakewood. They were on a mission to cover all the blocks around town in record time.
Adam's favorite human was his mom, Sharon, and how do we know? He typed in a text to his sister, "I love her more than anyone". He would send his mom heartfelt cards, meticulously landscape her yard and drive her crazy with his smart aleck ways.
Adam was not perfect and he would be the first to admit it. He was painfully honest to the core. Adam will always be remembered for being "smart, funny and cool" and his memory will always be a blessing.
Adam's family will be welcoming friends and family on Saturday May 23 from 2-4pm at Jardine Funeral Home, 15822 Pearl Rd, Strongsville OH 44136. We will then head over to Tony K's Bar & Grille, 841 West Bagley Rd, Berea OH 44017 at 4:30pm.
We respectfully request no flowers.
