Peter was Irish and I always said that he must have been born with a story gene because he always kept people amused with his stories. I had heard a lot of them so many times that I could add the last line for him. He took yearly trips to Canada with a few close friends on fishing trips and cooked for the men. They said that after he quit going that the food was not that good anymore.
He really liked working with young boys in Little League baseball and the whole family was involved. The oldest son, Peter started umpiring, Bob was in senior baseball, John was on Dad's team and Ted was a constant fan. Mom was head cheerleader and scorekeeper. We kept the ice cream store in business after winning games. He and I sat on the Board of Directors in Marquette Michigan and he held clinics to help the other coaches with the basics of pitching. He took one team to the State Finals in Michigan.
In later years he took to gardening and enjoyed picking out the plants and flowers for the garden and then took to fighting the animals that ate all of our flowers.
All in all I know that he enjoyed life and the people around him and his family.
