Those of us who were a close part of Marty’s life, shared with him all of his love, romance, wildness, grace, tenderness, restlessness, sense of humor, and incredible sense of purpose that being a father to Kennedy and Cole, and being a husband to his beautiful wife, Laura, gave him.
Like a lot of us, Marty was capable of great magic and success, while also making quite an amazing mess along the way. This was the nature of Marty. Marty’s unconditional love, which was very real, came with no conditions. Despite always being a major project and always a work in progress, this was the way that Marty lived and made his way through the world. I know that this can lead to some confusion, but he also carried a lot of love with him, and I know he loved his children and wife very, very dearly.
So, I will miss you Marty, my beautiful friend, a true force of nature, and miss your glory, your foolishness, your accomplishments, your amazing sense of humor, your power, and your peace. The mystery and power of Marty and our 20+ year friendship leads me to believe we must have stood together in other times, in other places doing our best each day to make the world a better place. So I will not say goodbye to my brother, I will simply say, see you in the next life, further on up the road, where we will once again pick up the good fight!!
With great love, respect, and admiration,
Greg Graham
