Mary Hastings

November 29, 1934 - February 10, 2022

Mary Hastings (nee Starbuck) age 87, passed away February 10, 2022. Beloved wife to the late Philip Hastings. Loving mother of Peggy (Bill and children Emily, Abby, and Bryce), Bob (Cheryl and children Erica, Christopher, Matthew, and Carly), Amanda (Norm and children Ben, Conrad, Sam, and Michael), Jon (Mary and children Lyndsay, Ryan, Christina) and Liz. Great-grandmother of Bradon, Camryn, Carson, and Walter. She is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Ruth Starbuck, siblings Nancy and Phyllis. Mary and Philip were married in 1957, started their family in Lakewood, Ohio, spent several years in Westport, Connecticut and made their final stop in Strongsville, Ohio in 1968. Mary was an active community member holding several leadership positions within Women’s League, PTA, Blossom Music Center, The Historical Society, Southwest General Hospital board and the Strongsville Education Foundation, among others. Mary attended Simmons College, completed research work at Tufts University, and graduate work at Mills College. She enjoyed her tennis leagues, skiing, golfing, bowling, hiking, beach vacations and most of all, visiting with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Jardine Funeral Home 15822 Pearl Road, Strongsville, OH 44136 from 12-3PM. Interment will be held at Jones Cemetery, Orange Massachusetts at a later date.
