    Lawrence D. Zahand

    September 9, 2021

Forever in our Hearts! September 9th, 2021, Heaven received a new Angel, Lawrence D Zahand, 78. Larry, also known as Daddy and Papa, was loved by so many and will be missed by all, especially his wife Mary Ann, his children Renee (Fernando), Kimberly (Guillermo), Larry (Tammy) and Lisa (Todd) and his 6 grandchildren Matt, Nicolas, Olivia, Adrian, Ava and Jack. He will also be missed by his sister and brothers, Valarie, Eddie, and Jimmy and Mary Ann’s family whom he held dear to his heart. To celebrate Larry, we will be hosting a CELEBRATION of LIFE on November 27, 2021, from 12:00pm to 3:00 pm, at the Mapleside Lodge in Brunswick Ohio. Our words below express our love and devotion to Larry and the legacy he left behind. No Flowers Please. Memorial contributions in Lawrence's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. https://act.alz.org/site/Donation2 df_id=32112&32112.donation=form1 Daddy was an extraordinary man of integrity, kindness, and compassion. He had unwavering commitment to his family and his life was devoted ensuring they were the cornerstone of his world. Daddy lived his life true to who he was, never compromising, and it showed in everything he said and did. He set an example with every word and every action that molded all of us into who we are today. He never spoke poorly of another and consistently found ways to help others, never expecting anything in return. A hallmark marriage is the best way to describe our parent’s relationship. From childhood sweethearts to lifelong partners, Daddy loved our mom more than words can describe. They just celebrated their 59th Anniversary on June 23rd of this year and it seems that every year they were together they grew closer and closer. His unconditional love for her and his kids set an example that all of us would follow. A man of few words, with a smile that was contagious brought joy and love to everyone he touched. His guidance to all of us will forever be honored and cherished. Daddy loved simple things; material belongings meant nothing to him. It was the time together with his family and friends that brought him joy. He loved playing pool, golfing with his best buddies, watching his grandchildren playing sports and mentoring them to do well in school. Daddy especially loved his time with his son Larry and grandson Mathew, theirs was a special bond, they were best friends. He loved the trips he would take with Mom to visit with his Kids and grandkids, brothers, and sister, and friends. One of his most recent joys was walking with Mom and his fluffy little dog Pixie in the park, sitting on the bench near the water and just being still. Daddy brought home Pixie for Mom for her birthday 4 years ago. We did not know then that Pixie would turn out to be his delight. Their friendship & bond was such a big part of what helped him in his final days. As Daddy’s memory, motion, and ability to get around became harder, Pixie was his best companion. She never left his side sitting next to him in his chair, sleeping curled up next to him in his bed and always giving him those puppy kisses that made him smile no matter how he was feeling. Daddy is now with the Lord and Angels surround the man we all adore and love. In Heaven he joins his Mother Martha, his Father Mike and his brother Michael. On this new Journey his pain is gone, his memory has returned, and his smile is shining through the glimmer of the clouds. Speaking to Christ through him is now a gift he has granted us. We pray and ask that he looks over us always. We will miss you every day and we will rejoice when we see you again in Heaven. Until then, you will remain here with us, Forever in our Hearts!
